Pink roses for a pink house. . .

I guess this would be my first official post?!

I’m kind of excited to share pieces of myself with you, although I’m not at all that interesting. I really am a simple 25 year old living in the heart of Brooklyn. But anyway, I wanted to share something that served as a perfect reminder for me the other day. As I was walking to work the other morning, I stopped to look at the most beautiful pink roses bloomed in front of this cute little pink house. Now, I pass by this house everyday and I’m always tempted to stop and take a photo but I never do. At first glance the house is hidden away in between two buildings with tons of greenery surrounding it. So if you pass by quickly enough, you almost miss its beauty. But that morning, the flowers were so beautifully flourished that I couldn’t help but snap a picture. Immediately I was reminded of these verses:

Matthew 6:30-34 The Message (MSG)

30-33 “If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.34 “Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.”

About a year ago, an old friend of mine sent me these verses when I was overwhelmed about the future. I remember feeling so encouraged and uplifted. So as I look at that photo, it tells me how much God loves us and tends to us in the most beautiful ways. He wants to bless us because He is a giving God who never lets us go without. So when I read those verses, I am reminded that even when we become worked up about the uncertainties of tomorrow, God is already there preparing the future for us. How awesome is that?; That just as how God clothes the flowers and feeds the birds, God will do so much more for us. . . So just as the little pink house was accented with pink roses, so God will accent you with His love and care.
